Testimonials

Volunteering at Hope Care and Beyond has been a transformative experience for me. Coming from an immigrant family, it has been an honor to provide community support and assist these refugees on their English learning journeys. Witnessing the resilience of these women in the face of challenges has been truly inspiring and reinforces the importance of refugee assistance in our society.

It was an amazing experience, and I truly enjoyed the connections I made with everyone there, especially the children. The community support and refugee assistance efforts are remarkable, and you do amazing work! - Yiannis P.

"I have been taking a sewing class through IFC for the past 3 weeks. It is amazing the community support that has been shown, the fast friendships that have blossomed, and the work of the Lord that I have had the opportunity to witness! They truly pour their whole hearts into the people they serve, providing essential refugee assistance, while simultaneously keeping their culture intact." -Hilary Walters

"They really understand the needs of our foreign residents, showcasing the importance of community support. We need to learn how to love them better through effective refugee assistance programs." - Pam Rafdal

"I came to HCB as a volunteer several months ago and have found working here to be very rewarding. As someone who has been retired for a few years, I was looking for a place where I could use my skills to provide community support and help people. I love HBC because we are making a tangible difference in people’s lives through the services and resources we offer, particularly in our refugee assistance programs. The founders of HBC truly understand the language and culture of the people we help, which enhances the effectiveness of our work."

My visit to the International Friendship Center in Dearborn was inspiring. It was wonderful to see the ESL classes, with their experienced teachers and students committed to active learning. The interpreters and other volunteers, who play a crucial role in community support, were extremely capable, too. Students took their studies seriously, but there was wonderful camaraderie. The sewing room was impressively well equipped for training, and the pantry, where participants can obtain necessary food supplies and household items, was thoughtfully stocked. It is clear why donations are important for refugee assistance, as the needs are great. Despite the challenges that these new immigrants face, I was most impressed by the friendly and supportive atmosphere at the Center, as reflected in many volunteer testimonials. It is truly a place of hope!

"I come here once, sometimes twice a week to help with the ESL program, assist with the daycare, and engage in sewing activities. I believe it's a wonderful initiative for community support that aids immigrants in learning English, fostering their independence. These women truly need support to learn English, and I am amazed every day by how willing they are to share their stories and learn about ours. The sewing program is incredible; it enables these women to earn a living by sewing from home, which I think will be immensely beneficial. It's just a wonderful experience, and I feel proud to be part of this refugee assistance effort." -Richelle Mahoney
