Resettlement to the U.S.

According to the USA for UNHCR website, the United States resettlement program is the largest in the world, making the U.S. a global leader in refugee resettlement since the 1970s. Resettlement to the U.S. is traditionally offered to the most vulnerable populations, including women and children, the elderly, survivors of violence and torture, as well as those with acute medical needs.

Global Trends At-a-Glance:

There are currently 26 million refugees worldwide—the highest number ever recorded. Additionally, there are 45.7 million internally displaced people and 4.2 million asylum seekers seeking safety and stability.
